27. MV and AMV Use Full Distributions of Random Variables

Mean Value (MV) method and Advanced Mean Value (AMV) method use entire moments of random variables. Therefore, it should be more accurate than Mean Value First-Order Second-Moment (MVFOSM) method. Since MV and AMV methods use the full distributions of random variables, the results for U-Space approach and X-Space approach are different. The accuracy for using U-Space and X-Space approaches depends on the linearity of limit-state function in these two spaces.
